Project Manager - Water & Sewer

 

The Project Manager will take personnel ownership of the projects or packages of works allocated to them and provide guidance to our Project Engineers & Supervisors through stages of the project management life cycle, including safely and profitably delivering and closing out projects in accordance with Service Stream’s project management systems.

The Project Manage will lead other key personal in the efficient management of resources and mitigation of risks to drive positive project outcomes.

The Project Manager is Responsible and Accountable for the below requirements associated with both their role and the Project / Site Engineers that are aligned as Direct Reports to their position:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and/or be involved in Tender Handover meeting.
  • Review Contract Project Documentation.
  • Ensure the development and implementation of the Project Management Plan including the project control metrics for monitoring safety, time, cost, and quality progress.
  • Establish project team and organize their activities prior to project commencement.
  • Conduct all Project Pre-Commencement requirements (as required by the client, Service Stream’s own procedures and/or relevant authorities).
  • Establish Project Budgets, insuring they align with the Tendered Project Values.
  • Managing / monitoring project progress / performance against safety, time, cost, and quality targets and adjusting to achieve successful outcomes including monthly forecasting of time and cost outcomes at project completion.
  • Project reporting (Internal and client) including, but not limited to safety, financial (including cash and debtors), risk, delivery, and relationship.
  • Develop / confirm the Construction Program for all projects.
  • Coordinate with relevant managers / Engineers (internal and external) for the commitment/allocation of resources (people, plant, equipment, procurement, subcontractors, suppliers) to meet the program.
  • Collaborating & sharing technical knowledge with other teams – participation in tender/procurement processes for other teams.
  • Leadership of the Project team(s) ensuring cohesion and collaboration.
  • Act as the client facing Project Manager on projects with a budget up to a value of $10 million.
  • Delivering the project in a way that prevents harm.
  • Client liaison and reporting, building positive long-lasting relationships.
  • Contract administration (including project communications, document management and records management).
  • Managing/monitoring of delivery against scope / contract obligations – recognizing, preparing, submitting, and negotiating variations and other contractual claims such as latent conditions, extension of time in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Provide work completion details and reports including quality assurance audits and site reports.
  • Project billing and claims management.
  • Sub-contractor / supplier management.
  • Stakeholder management.

About You:

  • Degree qualifications in Engineering, Construction or Project Management.
  • Demonstrated major project experience, minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar role, leading a team, managing budgets, costs, consultants and clients
  • You’re an effective communicator who is passionate about safety and can demonstrate the lengths you go to when it comes to implementing safe work practices and bringing everybody home safe every day
  • As an experienced civil Project Manager in the utilities sector, you have a strong history of delivering works safely, efficiently and to a high standard
  • You have sound team leadership experience and will be able to describe how you overcome difficult situations faced within the workplace setting
  • Having negotiated with multiple stakeholders you will be able to confidently describe how you’ve successfully tackled complex tasks in the past
  • Have a strong financial background of managing budgets, key milestones & client expectations.
  • Have prior experience in the delivery of Water & Sewer Renewals, Construction or Rehabilitation works.
