  • 3-year opportunity based in the heart of Canberra, with possibility to extend
  • $80,135 - $94,628 range plus 15% superannuation and uncapped commission
  • $110,000 OTE excluding superannuation

Our Energy Solutions team are looking for a proactive, driven and passionate Business Development Manager to join their team. This role will be focused on delivering innovative energy solutions to the capital region.

Reporting to the Energy Solutions Manager, you will drive growth across the energy solutions landscape, including but not limited to, commercial solar and battery storage, electric vehicle and fleet charging infrastructure, decarbonisation products and relevant new energy products existing and emerging.

With a natural ability to establish and maintain key relationships with customers and business and industry networks, you will work strategically to develop decarbonisation strategies and accelerate customer’s electrification journey, whilst translating these strategies to quantifiable commercial outcomes.

What success looks like:

You will:

  • Act as a ‘Subject Matter Expert’ for energy solutions within the Strategic Partners and Energy Solutions branch and across ActewAGL Retail and ActewAGL Energy Solutions.
  • Create and execute sales strategies to defend and extend market penetration and position of ActewAGL Energy Solutions.
  • Negotiate ActewAGL business energy contracts with current and new customers
  • Successfully operate in a dynamic and complex landscape where new challenges arise regularly and require professional and considered resolution without readily available guidance—due to the ‘ground-breaking’ nature of the landscape.
  • Pro-actively Identify, develop and drive revenue streams and additional product and service offerings for the ActewAGL Energy Solutions business that support strategic business objectives.
  • Work closely with the Energy Solutions Manager to build strong working relationships with the broader ActewAGL teams, customers and suppliers.
  • Represent ActewAGL at functions and networking events

We are looking for:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a business development or sales role.
  • Experience working to and tracking to a yearly sales target and monthly KPIs. 
  • Experience within energy related categories is preferred.
  • Commercially orientated, with the confidence and skills to identify, negotiate and execute new contracts and agreements.
  • Ability to build and maintain customer and stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to use a range of software including a CRM and Microsoft Office products.
  • Exposure to contract negotiation, tender evaluation and proposal preparation is advantageous.
