About the role

Evoenergy’s Environment and Technical Regulation team are seeking a Senior Sustainability Officer to join our team.

We are looking for a self-starter with project management experience who can develop and implement environmental and sustainability initiatives across the organization.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication, consultation and collaboration skills to engage with operational and office-based staff as well as contractors. A key component of this role will be to integrate climate change and sustainability into all strategies, plans, projects and decisions using data-driven approaches to support the business.


Day to day, you will:

  • Contribute to projects and environmental concepts throughout business groups including climate change assessments, baseline efficiency audits, fleet transformation and network transformation.
  • Communicate with the business regarding information on threats, opportunities arising from climate change, net-zero policies and new regulation and technological improvements
  • Contribute to long term strategic targets in relation to approaches to climate change
  • Support the business with new processes for sustainability in design, procurement and future investments
  • Assist with the implementation of an enterprise sustainability platform to record data and improve reporting
  • Provide advice on environmental planning processes, flora and fauna, heritage, contaminated land and waste management, erosion control, working in protected areas

Do you have?

  • A degree in Sustainability, Sustainable Development, Environmental Engineering / Science / Management / Natural Resources or experience in Project Management
  • Expertise in implementation and managing a program of sustainability within an organization
  • Experience working across different levels within a business
  • High level written and verbal communication skills – written reports, procedures and integration within a business
  • Proven competence in areas of sustainability, environmental management or impact assessment
  • Enjoy educating others in sustainability, including the development and face-to-face delivery of environment-related presentations and training
