Remuneration: $87,075 - $91,633 per year

Permanent, Full-time, $87,075 to $91,633 (yearly) - leave, superannuation, allowances, overtime and penalty rate benefits

This position is based in Toowoomba and is part of the broader Technical Support Team. While it has a management planning focus, it will not be based on-park, and is not an operational ranger role. Travel within the region will be required from time to time and the Ranger Planning role works Monday to Friday however weekend work may be required from time to time.

Rangers may work across five focus areas dependent on operational need, including Pest Management, Fire Management, Estate Management, Visitor Management and Assets and Safety. As such, Rangers may turn their hands to a wide range of jobs that can be safely undertaken by non-tradespersons. The opportunities and possibilities are endless!

This role’s focus area is contributing to the development, delivery and review of protected area planning instruments including management plans, statements and strategies. This role is part of a small, dynamic team, that is responsible for applying the values-based management framework (VBMF) to protected areas and State forests within South West Region. This role will focus on developing thematic strategies (fire, pest, visitor, post-contact cultural heritage, monitoring & research) for regional priority estate locations based on Key Values and Levels of Service assessment; and providing assistance to finalise management instruments. The role will also assist in evaluating the effectiveness of management actions, and collation of associated data, for specific regional locations.
