The UNE Business School has launched a new Centre for Agribusiness that will focus UNE’s multidisciplinary research effort on the commercial and social needs of the agricultural sector. As a provider of research, advice and capacity building to a network of industry, government and regional community stakeholders, the centre will operate in partnership with a number of UNE’s research, outreach and business support entities.

With this new initiative the UNE Business School is currently seeking an enthusiastic and innovative researcher with a passion for progress in Agriculture to undertake a 3 year post-doctoral fellowship within the Centre for Agribusiness.

About the role

Working under the research supervision of the Centre Director you will collaborate with other UNE researchers in a multidisciplinary partnership to deliver high quality research outputs. You will have innovative approaches to the application of new knowledge for commercial agriculture and an ability to attract research funding from a variety of sources. You will be proactive in the establishment and development of linkages to firms and industries to promote research partnerships, as well as working locally, nationally and internationally in the promotion, expansion and improvement of the competitiveness and performance of Australian agribusiness.

Skills & Experience

To be successful you should have a familiarity with, and commercial experience in, Australian agriculture as well as a recent PhD in a related field. Highly developed skills in data collection, data management and econometric analysis are also required.  You should be able to demonstrate substantial research capabilities through your publications and other communication and have excellent communication skills with a proven capacity to work effectively in teams (including virtual).
