Operations Property Specialist

Location: We have preference for the candidate to be based in our core Regional Hubs in Tamworth, Albury or Dubbo. However also open to considering candidates to be based in our Parramatta office.

What you’ll do: 

  • Develops and maintains standards, supporting regional teams with leasing requirements, subleasing, modification, remediation, disposal, heritage protection, audits, landowner queries and access (including squatting). The Corporate Property and legal teams will incorporate WNSW’s legal and regulatory requirements, as outlined by Operations, in commercial documents.

  • Work with Corporate Property to support negotiations that inform recommendations to management that resolve issues affecting the end-to-end lifecycle of land, properties and facilities owned and managed by the Operations Portfolio.

  • Provide Regional Teams (Operations) specialist advice on land and property matters to support risk-based decision making, enabling safe, efficient and effective use land and property.

  • Deliver projects involving land/ property acquisition and disposal matters to ensure the WaterNSW’s requirements are met.

  • Develop a structured workflow, engagement model and ticketing system (using ServiceNow) to manage, monitor and close out land and property requests from the Operations Regional Teams in a timely and customer-focused manner.

What we are looking for:  

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Property, Business Administration) or experience deemed equivalent

  • Experience in all aspects of land and property management, contract management, project management and financial management in both owned and leased premises with a strategic business planning and process delivery focus. 

  • Demonstrable experience in instructing valuers, surveyors and solicitors to protect and maintain organisational objectives.

  • Experience in the operation of computerised information management systems (including GIS) and a working knowledge of the relevant operations of the Land and Property Information Office.

  • Detailed understanding of relevant legislation, regulations and policies, and a proven track 
    record in implementing them. Specifically: Just Terms Compensation, Conveyancing Act, 
    Compulsory Acquisitions and Strata Titles Act
