The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UNSW is seeking to appoint an academic in the discipline of Water Engineering. The appointee will join an existing and dynamic Water discipline group with strengths in surface and groundwater hydrology, water quality, water treatment, coastal engineering, hydraulics and environmental fluid mechanics.

The successful candidate will be expected to fill a research leadership role within the UNSW Water Research Centre focussed on hydraulics and environmental fluid mechanics; and to teach in advanced areas of fluid mechanics and hydraulics at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.  Based at the School's internationally recognised Water Research Laboratory at Manly Vale, the appointee will be expected to collaborate across Centre research activities using their fluid mechanics expertise.

An established track-record in fundamental and theoretical fluid mechanics as well as numerical and laboratory experience will be considered an asset. Exceptional candidates with expertise in these or related areas are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate and grow an internationally recognized research program and to actively contribute to the development of the teaching and service missions of the School and Faculty.

This is a full-time fixed term tenure track position, with the possibility of conversion to a continuing position following review of performance after three years.
