Natural Resource Officer - [Archived Advertisement]

Located in the Northern Rivers area of NSW, Rous County Council is a special-purpose local government organisation that delivers bulk water and provides flood mitigation and weed biosecurity services.

 The position

As part of the Planning and Delivery branch, this role provides technical support for the development and implementation of natural resource and natural asset management plans and programs, as well as implementation of the environmental and water quality monitoring activities of Council.

This position with Council will commence from February 2017.

Qualifications and experience

A degree in Applied Science/Natural Resource Management or equivalent, demonstrated experience in catchment or natural resource management and/or the planning and implementation of environmental projects and demonstrated understanding of the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines including implementation of the framework for management of drinking water quality is essential. Demonstrated experience in floodplain management and associated planning issues is also highly desirable.

 Conditions of employment

Generous conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government State Award 2014, including a 70 hour / nine-day fortnight. Salary range $70,000 - $82,000 per annum based on skills and experience, plus statutory superannuation. A satisfactory health assessment, including drug screening is a pre-requisite to an offer of employment.
