Environmental Officer

 

The opportunity
  
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Environmental Officer to support our Mount Buller resort. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing, implementing, and monitoring environmental programs and initiatives within the organisation. The Environmental Officer will collaborate with internal teams, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainable practices.
Your passion for the environment will naturally drive you to promote environmental awareness and education to our staff and guests.

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Certificate IV in environmental science, natural resource management, or a related field, OR equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience.
  • Experience with the collection and analysis of environmental performance data.
  • A whizz when it comes to using Microsoft 365, Office software and GIS mapping.
  • Passionate about environmental sustainability and able to assist with the development and delivery of education programs to inspire and engage others.
  • A LOVE of the outdoors, including the rain, hail, shine and of course…Snow!
  • Physically capable of taking on demanding tasks in potentially harsh conditions.
  • A motivated individual who is innovative and can work independently or within a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Agricultural Chemical User Permit (ACUP), with 1080 endorsement. (desirable)
