Job Description

As Council's Water Sensitive City Officer you will work on the finalisation and delivery of Council's first Integrated Water Management Plan, build organisational capacity around Water Sensitive Urban Design and Integrated Water Management and contribute to cross-organisational networks, as well as collaborate with others across Council to deliver key capital works projects.

You will also:

  • Facilitate the delivery of Council’s integrated water management strategic objectives and actions as outlined in the Sustainable Environment Strategy 2018-2023 and Council’s climate emergency response.
  • Lead collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure the City of Stonnington becomes a water sensitive city.
  • Facilitate support and guidance on integrated water management and water sensitive urban design to internal teams.
  • Contribute to the planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting of environmental projects and programs related to our City’s Sustainable Environment and climate emergency response.

This is a permanent full time position with a salary range of $92,922 - $100,635 per annum + 10.5 % superannuation and an accrued day off each month.

This is a hybrid role which means you can work both from home and within the office. You are based within our bright, modern and sustainable Tooronga Depot office which is located next to Tooronga Train station and walking distance to Tooronga Village Shopping Centre. Desired Skills and Experience

To succeed in this position you will need:

  • Excellent collaboration skills and experience working with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate successful cross-organisational and multi-organisational projects.
  • Effective relationship building strategies for gaining buy-in and support from key stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Experience in developing strategic plans and projects that support water sensitive city objectives.
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the principles of integrated water management in an urban environment.
  • Qualifications in sustainability, environmental management, natural resource management, landscape design, engineering, planning or related discipline and/or demonstrated practical experience in these areas.
