Animal Management Officer
- Salary: $73k to $84k per annum + Monthly ADO + Superannuation

We’re looking for two permanent full time Animal Management Officers to:
- Build positive relationships with the community, providing an excellent level of service, and diffusing issues appropriately as they arise
- Provide education and advice on, and where necessary enforce, the Domestic Animals Act 1989, the Stonnington Local Law and other relevant Acts, Regulations and Codes of Practice
- Undertake and assist the team with investigations, enforcement, animal declarations, impounds and seizures, and prosecutions
- Issue general directions, Notices to Comply, Official Warnings and Infringement Notices as necessary in order to remedy issues of non-compliance
- Relevant post-secondary education (for example, Certificate IV in Animal Control and Regulation or similar) and/or significant experience in Animal Control & Regulation
- Comprehensive understanding of all relevant Acts, Regulations and Codes of Practice and an ability to interpret legislation
- Relevant experience in the application and development of Local Government legislation and enforcement activities
- Proven ability to conduct investigations and implement enforcement protocol for any breaches identified
- Great people skills to provide the highest level of service to our community.
Please note, this role requires some after hours availability and flexibility with regards to the shifts worked which may change throughout the seasons (for example, during the daylight saving period working the afternoon / evening shift until 7pm so we have park presence during peak periods). After hours availability includes being rostered on at times to attend to emergency animal management matters outside normal business hours (penalty rates apply).
