Environmental Engineer ANZ - Contract

Based at our Botany plant which operates 24 hours, 7 days per week. The role may require you to work at our Pagewood site and require you to work after hours to meet job outcomes. You will work in a fast-paced high-pressure environment. You need to understand and meet internal and external business needs with professionalism and a sense of urgency. 
 
You will ensure all employees and contractors under their control and others working in the plant comply with requirements of the OH&S legislation and regulations and their related policies, standards, programs, procedures and work instructions, as well as Kellogg policies and procedures.

About the role
In your role as an experienced and passionate Environmental Engineer, you will be part of our success by:

  • Being responsible for working with the EHS manager to develop and implement Environmental plans, programs and activities at the Botany manufacturing site and Commercial Services
  • Coordinate environmental reporting for KANZ
  • Ensure programs and activities are in place to achieve the Kellogg Company Corporate Responsibility goals relating to the environment.
  • Provide technical advice to the site teams, functional departments and stakeholders within and outside of Supply Chain to ensure appropriate planning, execution, and sustainability of Environmental initiatives
  • Ensure appropriate record keeping is maintained for the Botany manufacturing site and Commercial Services in relation to regulatory testing and documentation for internal audits and government bodies, inclusive of all internal & external environmental reporting and licensing requirements for all company owned sites.
  • Provide support across the EHS team by working on health & safety initiatives.
Skills, experience and attributes sought:
As well as a hunger to learn and succeed in the role, you must be able to meet the following requirements:
 
Required:
  • Degree in Environmental Science or Engineering and proven experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication ability which encourages teamwork and idea generation while remaining focused on results and process improvement. 
  • Must be able to balance conflicting priorities and still provide the organisation with clear direction and focus
  • Project management skills
  • Drive for a safe working environment and ensure compliance with all local, state and federal policies and legislation (Work Cover, DECC, Environmental.
Preferred:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other applicable computer software.
  • Strong Communication skills.
  • Able to build strong relationships
  • Influencing skills
