Senior Agronomist

Ravensworth is an innovative, Family owned mixed Agricultural business based in the Western Riverina. We have a large scale irrigation operation focused on cotton and corn and are seeking a skilled Agronomist to join our team.  This exciting opportunity will allow you to apply your expertise in cotton and corn crops to optimize yields, foster sustainable practices, and drive agricultural innovation.

This position will be an integral part within the Ravensworth team, reporting to the Farm Manger and Owners.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to;

• Provide expert guidance and support in optimizing cotton and corn crop production.
• Conduct field assessments, soil analyses, and crop health evaluations to develop tailored agronomic recommendations.
• Implement effective pest management strategies, irrigation techniques, and crop rotation plans.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in agricultural technology, research, and best practices, and integrate these insights into crop management strategies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, agricultural organizations, and industry stakeholders.
• Extensive experience working in a senior level agronomic capacity with exposure to Irrigated cotton and corn crops
• Experience managing employees
• Working knowledge of farm recording software and the use of GPS with the ability to interpret and implement strategies based on precision agricultural information
• Experience in irrigation scheduling 
• Experience in managing inventory levels for crop inputs 
• Tertiary qualifications 
• Proficient in Microsoft suite
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both internal and external)
• Be a self-starter with high levels of initiative and drive
• Experience in pest and disease identification and control, nutrient management planning
• Progression into farm manager role
