Environmental Manger

Brandown Pty Ltd is a privately owned company that operates an integrated waste disposal and recycling facility at Kemps Creek in western Sydney. The site operations include landfilling, mixed construction and demolition waste recycling, soil recycling and concrete and brick recycling producing a range of materials for sustainable reuse in the civil and building industries.

The Position

Working under the General Manager in conjunction with the Operations Manager and sales team you shall be responsible in providing relevant advice to ensure that incoming wastes are compliant with EPA license requirements and that the outgoing products also comply with the relevant Resource Recovery Orders and applicable product specifications.

You will also manage the ongoing requirements for environmental compliance and reporting for the site’s environmental licenses

The expected deliverables include:

• Ensure compliance with the site’s Environment Protection Licenses and regulations with regard incoming wastes and outgoing recycled products
• Ensure compliance with the site’s Environment Protection Licenses ongoing environmental monitoring requirements
• Manage all incoming waste and outgoing product compliance 
• Provide timely and accurate reporting to the General Manager   

The required skills and experience:

• Tertiary qualifications in an environmental discipline with suitable industry experience
• A sound understanding of the Waste Classification system in NSW and the Resource Recovery Orders and Exemptions processes
• A knowledge of sampling and testing procedures used in environmental analysis
• Good communication skills and the ability to manage a small workforce 
• Ability to work with government regulators and in particular the EPA
• Ability to work independently, prioritise works, problem solve and make decisions in a pressurised environment 
• Competent computer skills with Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
