Manager, Lake and Dam
Scrivener Dam was built in 1963 to contain the water of the Molonglo River to form Lake Burley Griffin. The Lake is the architectural centrepiece of Walter Burley Griffin and Marion Mahony Griffin’s vision for the National Capital of Australia. The Lake is an important place for recreation and commercial activity in Canberra, plays host to numerous National Institutions on its foreshores, and is the backdrop for many significant events in Canberra.
The Manager, Lake and Dam is responsible for managing these iconic assets. You will work closely with our contractors to deliver operations and maintenance services. You will undertake a diverse range of capital works projects to renew and replace associated assets. Additionally, you will be responsible for stakeholder engagement with the Lake User Group and engagement with other government departments and stakeholders. You will get experience in many other areas that that contribute to the strategic direction of the NCA.
To be successful in this role you will need excellent project and asset management skills. Communication and people skills will also be needed. All of your skills will be deployed in an environment of public stewardship.
