Location: This role can be based in our offices across NSW including Dubbo, Hunter, Parramatta. Desirable locations are for Albury, Leeton, Wagga Wagga, or Northern NSW (subject to availability).

Salary: Starting from $126,780 base + Super
Tenure: Permanent, Full Time

What we are looking for:

  • A strong desire to contribute your skills and expertise to our business 
  • Someone who is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander decent / identifies as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and is accepted as such by the community in which they were born, has lived or currently lives
  • A commitment to promoting and preserving Aboriginal culture and value
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence
  • Strong understanding of the agricultural industry and its relationship with regional communities
  • Strong understanding of stakeholder management strategies, stakeholder mapping and the importance of two-way communication
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle crisis situations calmly and effectively
  • Experience in deploying an external, public affairs lens to drive proactive engagement and communications
  • Experience building and fostering external networks to develop and maintain best practice knowledge and information sharing

What you will work on: 

  • Support the implementation of the stakeholder engagement strategy and action plan to ensure fit-for-purpose, timely and meaningful project and stakeholder relationship engagement to help achieve WaterNSW goals.
  • Develop, implement and where needed travel to attend a calendar of engagement events and opportunities to proactively share information, as well as build and strengthen relationships with customers, communities and other stakeholders.
  • Develop, maintain and strengthen relationships – consulting, communicating and leading conversations with customers, communities and other stakeholders who may represent a diverse range of viewpoints.
  • Provide advice, and support internal teams such as Operations, on the development and delivery of tailored engagement materials including key messages, presentations, newsletters, speaking notes, corporate reports and delivery support.
  • Support a proactive communications strategy, in conjunction with the Strategic Communication team, to ensure customers and stakeholders receive timely and accurate information.
