About the Role
As the Environmental Advisor,  you will be involved in driving the  organisation’s efforts to minimise environmental impact. You will assist in delivering comprehensive environmental reduction strategies and ensuring ongoing compliance with regulatory obligations. This role requires you to lead the environmental function and support various programs to ensure their successful implementation and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Environmental Strategy Implementation: Develop and deliver broad environmental reduction strategies, aligning them with organisational goals.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental obligations related to planning, licensing, and operational approvals. Prepare and submit necessary compliance documentation.
  • Leadership and Program Management: Lead the environmental function, oversee the implementation of environmental programs, and ensure their effectiveness.
  • Environmental Program Implementation: Manage programs across various domains including water, waste, noise, air quality, energy, biodiversity, soil assessment, effluent irrigation, and pollution reduction. Engage with the community on environmental initiatives.
  • Risk and Compliance Management: Manage environmental risks and conduct regular audits and assessments.
  • Continuous Improvement: Enhance overall environmental performance and integrate program outcomes with site operations.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in environmental management/science, sustainability, engineering, consultancy, or a related field, and/or equivalent experience.

Essential Experience:

  • Active involvement in environmental management or a similar field.
  • Experience in environmental audits and site inspections.
  • Understanding of Local and State regulatory approval pathways and environmental frameworks.
  • Experience with environmental data analysis, reporting, and presentation.
  • Engagement and working relationships with regulators.
  • Proven track record of project planning, management, and delivery.

  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure.
