Waste Service (FOGO) Project Officer

The Waste Service (FOGO) Project Officer is responsible for assisting to develop and deliver vital change communications and engagement on Banyule’s waste services led by the introduction of a Food Organics Garden Organics (FOGO) service in 2022. 

The role will help the Banyule community to help prepare for the implementation of this new service as well as making other positive changes in dealing with waste.

Key responsibilities & duties: 

  • Assist to develop a communications and education plan
  • Assist to deliver the Communications and Education Plan through:
    • One on one contact with residents
    • Discussions with community groups
    • Development of media and material resources for distribution to residents
  • Provide advice and assistance to the community and staff in relation to Council’s FOGO service
  • Organise bin audits and evaluate data and reports
  • Assist to continually assess the effectiveness of the plan actions
  • Recommend adjustments to communication and education as required

Qualification, Work Experience & Skills Required:

  • Relevant formal qualification or experience in the area of waste behaviour change
  • Demonstrated experience in assisting with the development, delivery and evaluation of waste behaviour change projects
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence (or equivalent)

Benefits:

  • An attractive salary range from $70,934.90 to $82,175.74 plus super
  • Temporary full time, 38 hours per week from 26/07/2021 to 30/06/2022
