The opportunity
The Environmental Forestry & Field Officer provides management of CHW’s commercial forestry including all silviculture and establishment operations, timber sales, fire suppression and prevention activities in compliance with the ‘Code of Practice for Timber Production 2007” and all other relevant Acts, Legislation, Regulations and Codes’. 

This position is also expected to support delivery of contracted work programs (additional to forestry specific contracts) undertake catchment and land maintenance activities which may include fencing, native vegetation management, weed control, roading and slashing. The role, where necessary, will provide field support to manage reactive maintenance issue relevant to CHWs catchment land and water, parks, and recreational assets.

About you

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Relevant qualifications and/or experience in forestry operations. 
  • Relevant specialist knowledge and skills in environmental and forestry operations. 
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ work experience in forestry operations. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of catchment management and source water protection. 
  • Knowledge of OH&S & EMS standards within the forest and environmental industry.
