Sustainability Manager

Role purpose

The Sustainability Manager – Environment plays a critical role in supporting the General Manager, Sustainability to deliver the sustainability strategy and agenda. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing large and complex programs to drive corporate and operational sustainability across the business to achieve the company’s environmental sustainability commitments. The role will also include responsibility for meeting any relevant regulatory obligations (such as the National Energy and Greenhouse Reporting (NGER) Act) and managing Vicinity’s environmental and greenhouse gas data and reporting systems across the business to monitor company-wide performance and meet external assurance and legislative requirements. The Sustainability Manager – Environment will additionally be responsible for managing relevant external partnerships, as well as delivering internal engagement and communication programs and initiatives to drive Vicinity’s environmental performance.

What will you bring?

You will bring a proven track record with solid experience in developing, managing and implementing environmental sustainability programs in large complex organisations with well-regarded sustainability agendas.  You will have outstanding consultation and communication skills, the ability to create trusted relationships with team members across the entire business and proven stakeholder management skills.  The ability to successfully influence at all levels of the organisation, as well as strong project management skills and a proven track record in managing multiple deadlines is essential. Your demonstrated technical knowledge of global sustainability reporting, global standards and measurement frameworks and property-based rating systems is crucial.  Relevant tertiary qualifications will be well regarded.
