Weed Control Operator - Illawarra District Weeds Authority

Are you interested in protecting our natural environment from weeds? The Illawarra District Weeds Authority has been serving the community since 1993 through the control priority weeds within the three local government areas of Wollongong City, Shellharbour City and Kiama Municipal Council.

The role:

The Weed Control Operator will be responsible for a variety of duties including chemical and other control of priority weeds on council property and private land across the region. 

You will hold AQF level 3 training in pesticide use accreditation, drivers licence and an ability to work unsupervised and be able to communicate with residents. A qualification in a horticultural related discipline and a ground applicators licence would be desirable requirements of the role.

We offer:

• Temporary Full time for 12 months, 38 hours per week
• Salary up to $974.90 per week, plus 9.5% superannuation
• 9 day fortnight
• Contract extension subject to satisfactory performance and ongoing funding
