REGIONAL SUPPORT OFFICER: Contaminated Land Management

(Fixed Term Position: 2 years)

The Riverina Eastern Regional Organisation of Councils (REROC) is seeking to employ a suitably qualified and experienced person to work with the councils located in the REROC region of NSW to provide support to, and build the capacity of council staff in developing contaminated land policies, procedures and registers and provide advisory services on contaminated land management including the regulation of Underground Petroleum Storage Systems (UPSS).

The councils included in the project are: Bland, Coolamon, Cootamundra-Gundagai, Greater Hume, Junee, Lockhart, Snowy Valleys and Temora.

The position will actively liaise with councils to understand their specific needs to enhance knowledge and understanding of the regulatory framework that underpins contaminated land management in NSW and to effectively meet their obligations under that regime.

The successful candidate will have relevant experience and qualifications as well as an understanding of the NSW Planning environment and the NSW contaminated lands regulatory regime. Project management skills and a proven track record of working collaboratively in a small team environment are important. Highly developed interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills, will be essential to your success in this role

This position is based at either Coolamon Shire Council or at the REROC Office in Wagga Wagga. A salary of $96,000 per annum plus superannuation will be offered for the role. The employee also has the option of a fully maintained vehicle, on a leaseback arrangement.
