An exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced motivated, enthusiastic and highly organised Hydrogeologist to join the Department of Environment, Parks and Water Security’s Water Resources Division.

The Hydrogeologist works under the direction of the Director Water Assessment, to coordinate and deliver hydrological and hydrogeological projects and programs and provide specialist groundwater hydrological information and advice to ensure sustainable development across the Northern Territory.

The Hydrogeologist will contribute to the delivery of water assessment projects and programs to extend and develop the understanding of water resource capabilities, risks and capacity in the Northern Territory to meet Government’s priorities and commitments.

The Hydrogeologist will have demonstrated experience in their field and will deploy industry leading water resource assessment techniques and standards and facilitate landowner and land manager participation in water assessment projects.

Applicants with previous demonstrated experience with providing hydrogeological supervision of bore drilling projects, and a willingness to undertake fieldwork in remote locations for extended periods of time (up to six weeks) will be highly regarded.

Northern Territory Government full-time employees are entitled to three weeks paid personal leave and four weeks paid recreation leave per year with an additional two weeks paid recreation leave per year if normally stationed in the Northern Territory. Christmas close down leave of three days.
