Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park Manager

Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park has been home to the Anangu for thousands of years and in 2019 is at a turning point in history. The closure of the climb is your opportunity to show that there is more to the park than meets the eye and put the enormous cultural significance and ecological and biological diversity at the forefront of visitor’s minds.

Working closely with the joint Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park Board of Management, you will lead a dedicated team and engage with Traditional Owners to achieve their vision for the future of the park.

Not for the faint hearted, this is a rare opportunity to shape the future of an Australian tourism icon. If you are a strong and resilient leader, with a background in culturally diverse environments, have experience in natural resource management and working with Aboriginal people, then this is the job for you.

  • $124,531 - $144,686 per annum, plus superannuation

Eligibility:

  • To be eligible for any position in the Department you must be an Australian Citizen unless otherwise agreed in writing by the delegate. Please note that you may be asked to provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
  • As a security clearance is required the successful applicant must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance level for the duration of their employment in the position; including undergoing a Satisfactory National Criminal History Check (prior to engagement).
  • This position is identified as involving working with children, the successful applicant must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate Working with Children Check.
  • This position is an ‘Identified’ position which signifies that the role has a strong involvement in issues relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The successful applicant must have an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and an ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander People. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply, however, all applicants are welcome. 
  • A current Driver’s licence is essential.
  • The Occupant of the position is required to work to an agreed performance development plan, participate in training activities, wear a uniform and work consistent with operational requirements and conditions within the Enterprise Agreement.
  • Satisfactorily complete a Probation Period of Six Months
