A unique opportunity exists for an experienced Accounting professional to join Marine Rescue NSW, an exciting, modern emergency service organisation.

Based in 44 rescue units along the coastline and key inland waterways, the 3,000-plus volunteer members of MRNSW provide essential services to protect and support the boating community, including emergency search and rescue operations, 24/7 coastal marine radio distress monitoring and safe boating education and advocacy. 

As Chief Financial Officer, you will work closely with the Commissioner, Finance Team, Board, Staff and Units to ensure the financial integrity of the organisation. With your advanced financial leadership skills and a hands-on approach, you will be making a clear and rewarding contribution to our mission of saving lives on the water.

You will be a CA or CPA qualified accountant with the ability to fit into the culture by working with volunteer members. Your highly developed inter-personal skills and proven ability to manage and coach staff and volunteer leaders to achieve improved performance is essential. Working in support of MRNSW Headquarters and 44 Units (and Unit Treasurers) you will have the ability to manage and oversee a range of business outputs and projects. Importantly, you will have a strong planning and time management focus for you and your team.  

Experience in not-for-profits and/or emergency/government organisations is highly desirable, as well as experience in using and educating others in the use of the NetSuite financial system.
