The Role

• Continuing, Full Time
• $92,117 to $130,114 p.a. (plus super.)
• Wagga Wagga

This is a key position within the Agricultural Science discipline group; you will be expected to develop strong links across the School and with collaborating research organisations to foster the School's teaching, research, development and extension (RD&E) activities in extension and rural sociology. You will work closely with colleagues in crop physiology, soil science and management, weed biology, crop protection and irrigation, amongst others, to generate fundamental knowledge and support industry uptake of optimised mixed farming systems relevant both to Australia and internationally.

To be successful as a Lecturer, you will have:

• Doctoral or Masters qualification in agricultural extension or rural sociology (or related discipline) or equivalent accreditation and standing
• A record of research or professional activity relevant to the discipline area
• Doctoral or Masters qualification in agricultural extension or rural sociology (or related discipline) or equivalent accreditation and standing
• A record of research or professional activity relevant to the discipline area
• An aptitude for relating to agricultural science students and experience of, or demonstrated capacity for, developing and delivering extension and rural sociology subjects at undergraduate and advanced levels with a clearly articulated teaching philosophy

To be successful as a Senior Lecturer, you will have:

• Doctoral qualification in agricultural extension or rural sociology (or related discipline) or equivalent accreditation and standing
• A record of significant achievement relevant to the discipline area and at the national level, in the scholarship of teaching and/or research or professional activity
• Significant knowledge and experience of the science and practice of extension and rural sociology relevant to Australian agriculture;
• Experience of, or demonstrated capacity for, developing and delivering extension and rural sociology subjects at undergraduate and advanced levels with a clearly articulated teaching philosophy
• Demonstrated ability to provide effective leadership in an academic setting
• Evidence of capacity to attract external funding for research, development and extension activities
