The Role

  • Continuing, Full Time
  • $92,117 to $130,114 p.a. (plus super.)
  • Wagga Wagga

This is a key position within the Wine Science and Viticulture discipline group, you will be expected to develop strong links across the School and with collaborating research organisations to foster the School's teaching, research, development and extension (RD&E) activities in wine production. You will work closely with colleagues in wine science, wine production, viticulture, food engineering and others, to generate fundamental knowledge and support industry uptake of optimised wine production systems relevant both to Australia and internationally.

To be successful as Lecturer you will have:

  • A doctoral or masters level qualification in wine production, or a closely related discipline in wine science or viticulture, or demonstrable industry experience in wine production;
  • A record of research or professional activity relevant to the discipline area which demonstrates a capacity to make an autonomous contribution;
  • Knowledge and experience of the science and practice of wine production and winery engineering relevant to Australian wine production;
  • An aptitude for relating to wine science and viticulture students and experience of, or demonstrated capacity for, developing and delivering wine production and winery engineering subjects at undergraduate and advanced levels with a clearly articulated teaching philosophy;
  • Creative approach to problem-solving and strategy development.

To be successful as Senior Lecturer you will have:

  • A doctoral or masters level qualification in wine production, or a closely related discipline in wine science or viticulture, or demonstrable extensive industry experience in wine production;
  • A record of significant achievement relevant to the discipline area and at the national level, in the scholarship of teaching and/or research or professional activity;
  • Significant knowledge and experience in the practice of wine production relevant to Australian wine production;
  • Experience of, or a demonstrated capacity for, developing and delivering wine production and winery engineering subjects at undergraduate and advanced levels with a clearly articulated teaching philosophy;
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective leadership in an academic setting;
  • Evidence of capacity to attract external funding for research, development and extension activities;
  • Creative approach to problem-solving and strategy development.
