New South Wales government is embarking on significant reforms in water management and at the same time is overseeing multi- billion dollar investments in water infrastructure across the state. To deliver this, DPI Water has been created and is currently building its leadership team, as such the Department is seeking to appoint a Director Water Science to join its new executive team in reshaping DPI Water.

The role will lead and manage applied water science and water resource management activities to deliver sound scientific data that enables effective water management and delivers quality services to clients. The role is responsible for data analysis and scientific studies to improve the knowledge of ecological and environmental impact for the effective management of water resources.
