About the role
This role presents a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated researcher to join a diverse team of microbial ecologists, microalgae physiologists, molecular phylogeneticists, plant molecular biologists to build bioinformatics research capacity and to contribute to a range of research projects across the group.
Reporting directly to the Executive Director of C3, Professor Peter Ralph , you will liaise with researchers within and across research teams to resolve issues, negotiating access to data and resources, documenting results to meet project goals and timelines and preparing publications for leading international journals
As the resident subject matter expert in bioinformatics you will contribute to the development and research performance of C3 by providing input and guidance on the design and conduct of research projects, analysis of data from metagenome and transcriptome sequencing, genotyping, expression, and other molecular studies.
About the Institute
Since its inception in 2008, the Climate Change Cluster (C3) at the University of Technology Sydney has been delivering on its strategic plan to build momentum, increase impact and be recognised internationally for its research excellence.
The institute has quadrupled in size since 2008 and has expanded its research capability from ecology to include additional expertise in plant physiology, microbiology, cellular biology, microfluidics, biochemistry, molecular biology (genomics, proteomics, metabolomics), physics (bio-optics), ecological modelling, chemistry, bio-informatics and remote sensing.

Remuneration
Salary Range: $72,916 to $131,743 pa Level A/B/C

This appointment will be on a fixed-term, full-time basis for four years.
