If you want to live in and manage one of Australia’s most iconic and spectacular jointly managed national parks then this is the job for you.  Parks Australia is looking for an energetic and experienced park manager for Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park.

This is a dynamic management role that will see you work closely with the traditional owners, your staff and key stakeholders to deliver services for visitors while conserving the park’s rich cultural and natural heritage. Our ideal candidate has a strong background in natural resource management and park operations.

You’ll also have experience in working with the tourism industry and scientific community.

Parks Australia contributes to the conservation and appreciation of Australia's biological diversity and associated cultural heritage of six national parks, 59 marine reserves and one botanic garden.

Within Parks Australia the Joint Management Branch is responsible for the management of Australia’s World Heritage listed Kakadu and Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Parks and Booderee National Park.

As Park Manager you will be working closely with the park’s Aboriginal traditional owners and the Board of Management, you will be responsible for directing the day-to-day operation of the park.

You’ll provide effective leadership, direction and mentoring to park staff through building and maintaining productive teams.

Your strong leadership will ensure a high standard of service delivery and the efficient and productive use of park resources.

You’ll build relationships with both the tourism industry and scientific community to help manage the park. You’ll implement the park’s management plan, and monitor and review the park’s practices and policies as required.

You’ll represent the park and participate in high-level negotiations with government and non-government agencies, including those representing the interests of traditional owners of the region.

To be successful in this role you’ll need to develop and maintain effective partnerships between your staff and traditional owners, as well as work closely with the Director of National Parks and her senior management team.
