What you’ll do: 

WaterNSW is currently seeking experienced Lead Project Engineer to provide engineering guidance and leadership to a multi-discipline project team, and to ensure optimal whole of life solutions are effectively identified, developed and recommended in response to project needs. 

  • Lead development and implementation of technical/engineering solutions for assigned projects and provide robust engineering recommendations
  • Manage a team Project Engineers and oversee the quality and effectiveness of the team, providing technical guidance and coaching
  • Manage engineering aspects of projects regarding problem identification, optioneering, and recommendations to meet project needs
  • Develop and implement inspections, testing procedures, commissioning, and handover plans for all relevant projects
  • Regularly monitor Project Engineers and Consultants to ensure all work complies with quality and WaterNSW standards, and meets agreed requirements 

What we are looking for:  

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher tertiary qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, preferably civil engineering and or mechanical engineering
  • Line Management experience of multi-discipline engineering teams
  • Proven expertise in the interpretation, assessment and review of engineering designs, drawings and construction, and other work methodologies to ensure compliance with standards and to meet required objectives
  • Demonstrated experience to solve engineering issues and determine appropriate solutions to technical challenges through effective optioneering
  • Knowledge of assets relevant to WaterNSW core asset base such as dams, water regulating structures, bridges roads, canals, embankments, buildings and cranes
  • Current NSW driver’s Licence.
