Blacktown City Council is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated leader with extensive experience in Strategic, Urban and/or Recreation Planning. You will be responsible for coordinating open space planning strategies and delivering over 150 new parks, including 70 new sports fields in an unprecedented phase of development and growth in Western Sydney. Coordinating a team of Recreation Planners, Landscape Architects and Project Officers, you will be encouraged to adopt innovative ways to address the changing recreation and open space needs of our existing population of 340,000 people as well as the needs of the incoming population. You must have tertiary qualifications in a related field such as Recreation Planning, Strategic Planning or Urban Planning, Leisure/Recreation/Sports Management or Landscape Architecture, and extensive experience in managing staff and providing leadership within the relevant industry. You must have a minimum 5 years' experience working with open space, recreation planning, strategic planning or urban planning, leisure/recreation/sports management, and a class "C" drivers licence.

Salary Range: An attractive salary package will be negotiated with the preferred candidate including a leaseback vehicle, a 35 hour working week with the opportunity to participate in flex time, leave entitlements, 9.5% employer superannuation contribution and much more.
