An opportunity is available for an experienced Ecologist to work on the Wild Deserts project in western New South Wales in partnership with the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage, Ecological Horizons and Taronga Conservation Society.
About the role
The Ecologist – Wild Deserts will provide expert support on the Wild Deserts Project; to reintroduce locally extinct mammals into western NSW, within an ecosystem management framework.
The position is to eventually be based at Wild Deserts Fort Grey homestead in Sturt National Park, although there will be an establishment phase of about a year, with the position possibly based in Sydney, Dubbo or Broken Hill.
The project brings together a multidisciplinary team from UNSW Centre for Ecosystem Science (including Fowlers Gap), Ecological Horizons and Taronga Conservation Society to introduce locally extinct mammals into part of Sturt National Park.About the successful applicant
