GOVERNANCE ADVISOR

PERMANENT FULL TIME

 

Located in the northern rivers area of NSW, Rous County Council is a special-purpose local government organisation that delivers bulk water and provides flood mitigation and weed biosecurity services.

The position

The Governance Advisor will lead and deliver timely internal customer focussed governance advice and services to enable the achievement of Council’s business goals in a manner consistent with applicable legal, accountability and policy obligations.

 

Qualifications and experience

 

This position requires a relevant bachelor level qualification in law or relevant equivalent qualification supported by 3-5 years in a similar role.

Proven experience and results in providing governance advice (verbal and written) and support services on a broad range of topics for a wide range of internal stakeholders are essential for this role.

The successful candidate will demonstrate their ability to act with a high level of integrity, make ethical, evidence-based decisions, be highly motivated and have the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.

You must also be committed to promoting Council’s Values of Safety, Teamwork, Accountability and Respect.

Conditions of employment

Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government State Award 2017. Salary range $79,227- $92,674 per annum based on skills and experience plus statutory superannuation (9.5%) and generous working conditions including a 70 hour, nine-day fortnight. A satisfactory health assessment, including drug screening is a pre-requisite to an offer of employment.
