ASSET PLANNING & GIS OFFICER - (2 year term contract)

Located in the northern rivers area of NSW, Rous County Council is a special-purpose local government organisation that delivers bulk water and provides flood mitigation and weed biosecurity services.

The position

Undertake a range of GIS and Asset Management activities to support the delivery of services in accordance with Council’s agreed service standards.

Qualifications and experience

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree level qualification in a GIS or Engineering discipline or significant demonstrated experience in GIS and Asset Management together with experience in the development and management of computer-based Asset Management Information Systems.

The successful candidate will also have experience in the management and administration of GIS applications and spatial datasets including data capture and manipulation, analysing complex spatial data and producing high quality mapping products.

Demonstrated ability to work independently without supervision to achieve targets and the ability to assess and manage competing priorities is essential for this position.

Conditions of employment

Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government State Award 2017. Salary range $63,564 - $74,349 per annum based on skills and experience plus statutory superannuation (9.5%) and generous working conditions including a 70 hour, nine-day fortnight. A satisfactory health assessment, including drug screening and a criminal background check is a pre-requisite to an offer of employment.
