Located in the Northern Rivers area of NSW, Rous County Council is a special-purpose local government organisation that delivers bulk water and provides flood mitigation and weed biosecurity services.

The position

As part of the Planning and Delivery branch, this role is responsible for coordination, development and implementation of demand and drought management plans as well as other strategies, programs and systems to achieve Council’s Future Water Strategy.

This position with Council will commence from February 2017.

Qualifications and experience

A degree in Applied Science/Natural Resource Management or equivalent, experience in implementing water quality monitoring and evaluation programs, and experience in catchment and natural resource management including implementation of environmental projects are essential. Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated abilities in consultation with a variety of stakeholders is also essential.

 Conditions of employment

Generous conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government State Award 2014, including a 70 hour / nine-day fortnight. Salary range $70,000 - $82,000 per annum based on skills and experience, plus statutory superannuation. A satisfactory health assessment, including drug screening is a pre-requisite to an offer of employment.
