A leading NSW Government organisation is looking for a passionate Senior Urban Planner for a permanent position based in Parramatta. This Department is inspiring strong communities. It is working towards creating the benchmark for a collaborative partnership with key stakeholders to deliver better outcomes in the area of planning, local government and the environment.

The Senior Urban Planner manages and leads the activities of a planning team in the delivery of housing and employment priority growth objectives. They will be responsible for delivering innovative and quality place-based outcomes, with a high level of community focus. The Senior Urban Planner develops robust precinct plans for areas of major urban renewal and delivers sustainable urban communities. These plans will address key housing, employment, transport, open space, cultural, heritage and environmental issues.

The Senior Urban Planner will lead the preparation of Land Use and Infrastructure Implementation Plan (LUIIP) work, Planned Precinct (PP) work and State Significant Precinct (SSP) projects. They will focus on planning projects within the Greater Parramatta and Olympic Peninsula (GPOP) area and the various priority precincts identified in this area. This is the geographic and demographic heart of Greater Sydney, and a key locality in the next central business district.

The department is looking for a passionate, creative and inspired Senior Urban Planner who can develop and deliver master plans for the next 20 years and beyond. An understanding is required of the roles and responsibilities of State and Local government authorities, and the private sector in new urban renewal developments.
