The Role

This could be your opportunity to advance you career by joining our Reproduction Team on a two year fixed term contract based at our Ruakura Campus in Hamilton. There you will be working on novel approach to generate enhanced genotypes in livestock. This requires: genome editing of industry-relevant target genes in cells and embryos; analysis of functional consequences in the male germline; expertise in IVP, nuclear transfer and chimera approaches. This an exciting project not to miss that will benefit the development of new biotechnology-based agricultural practices for animal breeding.

Requirements:

  • PhD in a relevant field,
  • Strong background in molecular embryology, including in vitro embryo production
  • Genome editing expertise in mammalian cells
  • Experience in nuclear transfer cloning and embryo cryopreservation would be an asset, although training will be provided for the successful candidate.
  • Motivated to work both independently and as part of a team in a highly interactive and creative environment.
