About the role

WWF's Kimberley transformative conservation program encompasses threatened species and marine projects that are delivered in collaboration with Indigenous partners. The Program Manager Kimberley develops, implements and manages the land and sea program by overseeing iconic species conservation projects and delivering on capacity building partnerships. Advocacy and communications are critical aspects of the role to ensure ongoing awareness-raising and funding for WWF's work in The Kimberley – a place that has global conservation significance.

Skills, knowledge and experience

• Extensive experience in the application of complex biodiversity conservation principles and evaluation practices in Australia.
• High level skills in multi-stakeholder engagement and facilitation in delivering complex programs in alignment with Indigenous and scientific perspectives.
• Understanding of the cultural context when working with Aboriginal or other Indigenous people with demonstrated experience engaging and working with Indigenous people to deliver environmental conservation programs.
• Conservation planning and project management, analysis and reporting skills, including risk management and field work experience.
• A track record of delivering conservation outcomes through advocacy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including media relations, presentations, conflict resolution and group facilitation.
• People management experience and a track record creating constructive team cultures.

It is desirable that applicants have a working knowledge of conservation, social and community issues affecting the Kimberley region.
