The School of Science is a large and comprehensive school with learning, teaching and research excellence encompassing a wide range of biological, chemical, environmental, food, forensic, medical, nutritional and physical sciences, including agriculture and astronomy.

An opportunity is available for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the team in Agriculture and Plant Science.

The Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Agriculture & Plant Science will have 70% research, 20% teaching and 10% service at the School of Science. In this position will have responsibility for collecting and analysing data on plants in a range of experiments conducted under field-based and controlled environments as well as in the laboratory. You will also have responsibility for development and refinement of methods for obtaining data, including phylogenetic, bioinformatics, biochemical and image analyses. Expected research outputs include well-documented methods for generation and analysis of trait data, submission of research data to public repositories and peer-reviewed articles in scientific journals.

You will have opportunities to collaborate widely with academics both within and external to School of Science and will contribute to the supervision of two PhD students also working on the project. You will communicate the results at scientific meetings and publish the research in high-impact international journals. You will also contribute to the School of Science’s teaching effort by coordinating teaching units, and give lectures, practical classes and tutorials at both undergraduate and graduate level.

The position is located at Hawkesbury campus, however may be required to work on other campuses or as directed by the University, from time-to-time.

Remuneration Package: Academic Level B $127,812 to $150,817 p.a., (comprising Salary of $108,003 to $127,531 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading).
