Technical Officer

The Technical Officer is responsible for the operation and maintenance of technical aspects of research experiments within the High Rainfall Zone (HRZ) cropping program. You will operate specialised farm machinery to sow, maintain and harvest research trial sites, collect soil and plant samples and use scientific instruments to store and process electronic data. The role involves assisting with the coordination and training of technical and casual staff and managing the resources and output of the research team.

This position requires experience of grain cropping systems and an understanding of the conduct of research experiments involving field operations and data analysis. You will need to operate and maintain field machinery and scientific equipment used for research trials and be proficient in the operation of computer systems and software programs.  If you meet these requirements, check out the position description and have a chat to the manager.
