The Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness (ACDP) provides diagnostic and research capability required to investigate and respond to newly emerging diseases affecting livestock and other animals. Our Quality Assurance team is now offering an opportunity for a second Animal Welfare Officer at the ACDP.
As an ACDP Animal Welfare Officer, you will provide veterinary advice and specialist expertise in the management of animal welfare relating to CSIRO research. With your primary focus on ensuring the welfare of animals used in research, you will also be involved in diagnostic work and training animal technicians in medical and surgical techniques. Building effective relationships across ACDP to ensure the best possible welfare and care of animals in the facility, you will provide leadership in maintaining the standard of animal care and use.
The appointee must be able to meet ACDP microbiological security and security assessment requirements.
Location: Geelong – Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness (ACDP), VIC
Salary: AU$105k - AU$114k per annum, plus up to 15.4% superannuation
