CSIRO Postdoctoral Fellowship in Coastal Climate Modelling
CSIRO Early Research Career (CERC) Postdoctoral Fellowships provide opportunities to scientists and engineers who have completed their doctorate and have less than three years of relevant postdoctoral work experience. These fellowships aim to develop the next generation of future leaders of the innovation system.
The Postdoctoral Fellow will develop predictions of future marine conditions in the Great Barrier Reef (GBR), at a scale relevant to ecological responses. They will be responsible for downscaling global climate predictions using a coastal model of the GBR and exploring local impacts accounting for the critical climatic threats (warming, acidification, changes in circulation, pollution). The Postdoctoral Fellow will work as part of a collaborative and multidisciplinary modelling team: from hydrodynamic to biogeochemical and connectivity modelling, from small scale and tidal dynamics to basin scale climate signals, and from coral bleaching to ocean acidification.
