Whitehorse City Council is seeking an enthusiastic person to join our Statutory Planning team as a Principal Planner. With Box Hill designated as a Metropolitan Activity Centre and our team moving towards paperless processes, this is a great time to join Whitehorse and be exposed to a range of exciting and interesting applications and projects.

As a Principal Planner, you will provide support to the Team Leaders in guiding and mentoring Planners within the team whilst managing your own load of complex applications. In managing your own applications, you will be required to undertake public consultation and mediation and represent Council’s interest in respect to planning appeals.

If you hold a relevant tertiary qualification, substantial experience in managing major applications including mixed use projects that range from 10 to 30 plus storeys in height, can communicate clearly in a public setting and in a team environment and can juggle the challenges of a demanding role successfully we look forward to hearing from you.
