Job Description

The City of Bunbury is seeking a skilled and qualified full time Environmental Health Officer. The role of the Environmental Health Officer will be to ensure legislative compliance under the jurisdiction of the Environmental Health Service at the City.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine statutory compliance inspections.
• Investigate notifiable diseases, incidences of food poisoning, noise and other pollution complaints, illegal camping and other health related complaints.
• Monitor the quality, microbiological status, and/or constituents of food and chemical and microbiological quality of aquatic facilities, drinking water and recreational water
• Asses building plans and planning proposals for statutory compliance.
• Provide food safety education for the food industry and targeted community groups.
• Prepare proofs of evidence and present to a Court of Law.
• Undertake inspections and monitoring of events after hours as required.
• Perform the duties of an Inspector or Authorised Person under the provisions of the relevant acts.
• Undertake field work activities in relation to the City's mosquito management program.
• Maintain records in accordance with the City's policy and legislative requirements.

What we offer

• Conditions of employment are in accordance with the City of Bunbury Employees 2015 Enterprise Agreement with a level 5 to level 6 salary range of $66,219 to $75,925 gross per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
