About this Opportunity

We are on the lookout for an Event Manager for the Australasian Waste & Recycling Expo – the most established commercial event of its kind in the market place.  The event attracts worldwide interest and brings together the industry to showcase innovation, the latest trends and provides for networking opportunities from key decision makers within the industry.  

As an experienced Event Manager, you will be given the mandate to challenge the status quo and bring in your creative, strategic and commercially sound ideas to the table to drive this show into the next phase of success.  We’re looking for someone who is energetic, self-motivated and adaptable. Your previous experience in the event, exhibition and conference space and your meticulous attention to detail will ensure you shine in this dynamic fast-paced role. 

Key responsibilities in the role include:

  • Develop and drive show business plan to achieve sales growth and profitability
  • Development and maintenance of project plan, timeline and work plan
  • Establish and maintain event budget in consultation with Event Director
  • Manage small, tight knit team
  • Launch a new conference in conjunction with our strategic partner

To ensure your success in this role you will have:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a commercial event management environment
  • Experience in managing event production budgets with financial accountability
  • Ability to ‘think outside the box’ and come up with creative solutions to deliver revenue  
  • Ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Superior ability to prioritise, multi-task, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Precise attention to detail and methodical approach

This role will require interstate travel.
