Resource Recovery Coordinator

We are currently seeking a Resource Recovery Coordinator to join our Water & Waste team. 

Primary Objectives:

  • Provide support to the Manager Waste in overseeing, developing and managing the operational areas of the Waste branch. 
  • Provide effective leadership to Council's Waste Operations unit that fosters a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Coordinate the implementation and delivery of waste and recycling operational activities and services at Council's network of waste management facilities to ensure service standards are achieved.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Business or related field and / or experience in similar role.
  • Proven ability to plan, coordinate and oversee operational activities of a large team.
  • Sound knowledge of the waste management and recycling industry in Queensland and Australia, including an understanding of current issues and trends. 
  • Proven ability to sustain self and others through change processes in an environment of continuous improvement. 
  • Financial management skills including cost estimating, project scheduling and monitoring, budget compilation and expenditure control.
  • Project management skills with the ability to develop, manage and coordinate multiple projects and resoures on time and to budget. 
  • Superior verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing and a national police history check.
