Water Resources Planner Modeller - 2 Years fixed term

Water Resources Planner Modeller - 2 Years fixed term

The Water Resources Planner will work across surface water, groundwater and bulk water resource matters, with a key aspect of this role being hydrologic modelling using REALM and Source to support the functions of the Storage Manager.

The role will also support wider water resource planning and compliance activities, including GWMWater’s Annual Water Outlook, operational planning for bulk water supply systems and modelling of diversions against Murray Darling Basin limits. The incumbent will be involved in reporting, entitlement and licencing frameworks, policy issues, and climate considerations.

With the role having a technical focus, the incumbent will require a high level of attention to detail, ability to identify potential issues and to develop solutions to complex problems. The effective communication of modelling outcomes to diverse stakeholders is also an important part of this role.

The role requires the incumbent to work across the water resources group and maintain close and collaborative working relationships with the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning and other key stakeholders.
