As a Sustainable Environment Officer you’ll provide specialist advice on environment and sustainability issues, particularly related to waste. Working within an innovative and collaborative Council, you’ll be responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting of waste-related projects and programs aligned with the strategic objectives and actions detailed in Council’s Sustainable Environment Strategy. This is a permanent part time position for 19 hours per week.
To strive in this position you’ll be passionate about sustainability and have demonstrated practical experience in resources and waste management. You’ll possess strong project and contract management skills and be a self-starter with demonstrated use of initiative and independence to innovate and explore continuous improvement opportunities, as well as plan and deliver high quality projects with autonomy. Additionally, you’ll have strong communication skills and the confidence to present to a range of audiences.
