We have created a new role within our Parks Leadership Team to drive cultural change, enhance productivity, and lead continuous improvement.

The Coordinator will lead a team of 90 and a $15M budget to achieve service objectives and best practice outcomes across the City's parks and open spaces, streetscapes, and sports grounds.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate staff to enhance productivity, safety and continuous improvement.
  • Drive cultural change.
  • Coordinate maintenance services of  Council's parks and open space reserves, playgrounds, sportsgrounds, golf courses, roadsides and streetscapes.
  • Provide strategic, financial, legislative and policy development advice.
  • Identify Key Performance Indicators and maintain a system for monitoring and review.

Key attributes

  • Demonstrated record of achievement in leading and influencing a large labour force to deliver service outcomes.
  • Previous success in managing major works programs with a focus on quality, safety and cost.  
  • Assertive and confident communication style.
  • Ability to  easily establish productive work relationships with your team and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to inspire 100% effort from your team and develop the business to achieve its goals.
  • Excellent horticultural knowledge and skills developed through your studies and practical experience.
